Effect of Corporate Social Responsibility on Community Development in Ekiti State

Abstract
The study examined the effect of CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN EKITI STATE. The study adopted descriptive study research design. The population of this study was three hundred and seventy eight thousand, five hundred and nineteen (378, 519). This comprises the number of Ado-Ekiti residence as revealed by population statistic record 2022. Out of which 400 was drawn using stratified random sampling technique. The data for this research was gathered through the use of questionnaire. Simple regression analysis was used to the hypotheses test of 0.05 level of significance. The tested hypothesis revealed that corporate social responsibility has a positive effect on community development. The R2 which shows the fitness of the model reveal that corporate social responsibility will enhance community development by 56.8%, 45.1% and 38.2% implying that the model is a good fit. The tested hypothesis shows that corporate social responsibility and community development is statistically significant at 0.05 level which implies that alternate hypothesis should be accepted meaning that the effect of corporate social responsibility on community development gives a reliable figure. The adjusted R2 which show a positive figure reveal that community development will be increase by 55.4%, 43.4% and 36.3% after all adjustment has be made. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of corporate social responsibility on community development in Ekiti State. According to the obtained results of inferential statistics indicated that the entire corporate social responsibility attribute measured have Positive and significant effect on community development at 0.05 level of significance. The corporate social responsibility components (customer responsibility, environmental responsibility and community responsibility) have strong positive significance on community development with reference to Ekiti State
