Abstract
This research focuses on the translation of selected Hadiths from the book Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaibah (Hadiths 38811–38899) from the Arabic language into the Hausa language. The study aims to make these Hadiths more accessible to Hausa-speaking audiences who may not understand Arabic. It examines the linguistic, semantic, and contextual meanings of the Hadiths, ensuring that the translation preserves the original intent and message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as narrated in the collection. The research also highlights the challenges faced during translation, such as differences in linguistic structure, cultural expressions, and terminological accuracy between Arabic and Hausa. Various translation methods are employed, including literal and contextual translation, to achieve clarity and faithfulness to the original text. The study concludes that accurate translation of Hadiths is crucial for enhancing Islamic knowledge, promoting moral understanding, and bridging the linguistic gap between Arabic sources and Hausa-speaking Muslims. It recommends that translators should possess deep knowledge of both Arabic and Hausa, as well as the principles of Hadith interpretation (Ulum al-Hadith), to ensure proper and reliable translation.
