Small Mammals Diversity in Selected Locations on University of Ilorin Campus.

Abstract
Small mammals are vital components of terrestrial ecosystems, playing crucial roles in method was used for this study using Sherman traps. The traps were baited with the low,some rodents are may affect students health and wellbeing. It is essential to improve the animals can affect the environment and even carry disease that can be harmful to sanitation to reduce the number of rodents. This study helped us know the small captures and were also rebaited with a newly prepared bait.Hostels with bushy mixture of maize flour, and peanut butter. This research revealedthe levels of species richness, diversity among small mammals. The traps were checked every morning for habitat loss, climate change and human activities. This study aimedto document the environment has the highest number of capture. Even though the number of capture was mammals that live within the University of Ilorin hostels. This study is important because of small mammalsremains poorly understood, with many species facing threats from presence of small mammal species in the University of Ilorin school hostelsLive trapping seeds dispersal, prey species and nutrient cycling.
