Effects of Exchange Rate and International Trade on Banks Profitability

Abstract
Abstract - The study examined the effects of exchnge rate and international rade on banks profitabiliy beween 2010 and 2023. The objectives of this stucty are to investigate the efects of exchange rate, expori and import on banks profirability in Nigeria. The data for this study was generated from secondary source hrough the pubiications of Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin. The study employed OLS multiple regression amalytical techniques in the analysis of the data. The findings revealed that Exchmge rate, export and import have sicgnificant effects on bank profitability. k is therefore recommended amorg others that effort must be put in place towards designing a relatively stuble exchange rate regime that can attract domestic and international investment which will urn enhance banks proftabilily also goverment shoudd reduce over-dependence on imports and increase and diversify its export base to earn more reveue.
