Teamwork and Clerical Skills Required of Secretaries for Effective Job Performance in the Ict Era

Abstract This study focused on teamwork and clerical skills required of secretaries for effective job performance the ICT era. The population of the study comprised 66 secretaries and their bosses working in Osun sto polytechnic, Iree, Osun State. For the purpose of collecting information, various literature and textboo were consulted. Also a well structured questionnaire was constructed, administered on the subject. T frame work for data collection of the research work was built on four (4) research questions. (1) What c the time management skills required of secretaries for effective job performance in the ICT era? (it) W are the work collaboration skills required of secretaries for effective job performance in the ICT era? ( What are the ICT skills required of secretaries for effective job performance in the ICT era? (iv) What the record management skills required of secretaries for effective job performance in the ICT era? questionnaire was distributed by hand. Responses to the research questions were analyzed using sim mean method. It was concluded that secretaries that possessed time management skills listed ab performed effectively, manage office tasks effectively and efficiently. It was recommended that employers of labour should provide opportunity for training and retraining of secretaries in order sharpen their ICT and record management skills.
