Interrogating Poverty and Underdevelopment in Ebonyi State Using Cases and Issues in Ikwo Local Government.

Abstract
Abstract This study interrogates poverty and underdevelopment in Ebonyi state using cases and issues in Ikwo local government. The study was carried out using chi-square in analyzing the cause and effect of poverty on the development of Ikwo. This study also adopts the human capital theory to explain the causes of poverty and the solutions to the phenomenal. This study aim to identify the relationship between health care delivery, poverty and underdevelopment in Ikwo LGA, to determine if there is any relationship between poverty and underdevelopment in Ikwo LGA, to evaluate the effects of poverty on the development of Ikwo LGA. The causes of poverty include lack of good education, unemployment, corruption, inequality, weak political system and institution and unstable political environment. The findings was poverty in real in Ikwo local government and it haves effects on the development of the Local Government or poverty is the cause of underdevelopment in the Ikwo local government, that poverty is a major concerned in Ikwo LGA and this has hinder the level of development in the local government. Recommendation is suggested by implementing targeted strategies, fostering collaboration, and addressing structural issues, it becomes possible to achieve sustainable development and alleviate poverty in the region, also, improving infrastructure, including transportation, energy and sanitation to create a conducive environment for economic activities and attract investment and also ensuring that people, especially in low income communities have access to financial service, which can empower them to start business and participate in economic activities.
