Abstract
< This study examines the causes, consequences, and implications of electoral violence in Nigeria's 2019 general elections. It aims to fill a research gap by providing a detailed analysis of the unique dynamics and triggers of violence during the elections.
The project explores the consequences of electoral violence, including its impact on citizen participation, trust in the electoral process, and democratic institutions. It also analyzes the implications of electoral violence for sustainable democracy in Nigeria, focusing on the erosion of democratic values and challenges to governance. The research adopts a case study approach, specifically studying the 2019 elections, to gain a nuanced understanding of electoral violence in Nigeria. Overall, the project aims to contribute to academic knowledge and inform policy interventions to prevent and address electoral violence in the future.
