Design and Implementation of a Point of Sale System ( a Case Study of F5aminat Mini Mart)

The design and implementation of a Point of Sale (POS) system for F5Aminat Minimart aim to enhance sales transactions, inventory management, and user authentication. The system replaces traditional manual sales recording with an automated, efficient, and secure solution. The project follows the Waterfall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, ensuring a structured approach from requirement gathering to system design, implementation, and testing. Key features of the system include sales processing, product management, barcode scanning, user authentication, and role-based access control. These functionalities help streamline business operations, reduce errors, and improve transaction speed. The system was developed using HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, and Bootstrap, providing a user-friendly interface. Unit, system, and usability testing were conducted to validate performance, security, and ease of use. Results showed that the system effectively automates sales processes, enhances inventory tracking, and improves overall store management. Future recommendations include mobile application development, and online payment gateway integration to further enhance system efficiency and scalability. This project demonstrates the significance of technology in retail management, providing a reliable and scalable POS solution for small businesses.
