Abstract
Newcastle disease is an important disease of poultry globally. Its economic impact is severe due to the high mortality rate which may reach 100 % in affected poultry farm. This study aimed at evaluating the upshots of Xylopia aethiopica on the replication and pathogenic profile of Newcastle disease in broiler chicks. Twelve (12) 1 day old broiler chicks were used in this study which was divided into 3 groups. Group 1 was protected with Xylopia aethiopica extract before being challenged with the virus whereas group 2 received only the virus and group 3 served as the control.
