Assessment of Methods of Teaching English Language on Students' Performance in Selected Secondary Schools in Osun State.

Abstract
This research work focuses on assessment of methods of teaching English language on students' performance in selected secondary schools in Osun state. Specifically, the researcher adopted survey design since the design seeks to find out the opinions of teachers on the assessment of methods of teaching English language on students' performance in selected secondary schools in lla LGA in Osun State. The study was intended to introduce different methods of teaching English. The research population includes one hundred students randomly selected from five selected secondary schools in lla Local Government Area of Osun State. The data collected were calculated and analyzed in percentages. Based on the findings, the researcher made the following recommendations: Government should train more teachers in order to specialize on handling different methods of teaching English. Teachers should be encouraged especially at the secondary level to form the habit of improvisation as part of their responsibilities. Parents should be involved in the aspect of the school needs through the Parent-Teachers' Association.
