Local Government and Revenue Generation for Effective Governance and Administration in Nigeria. (a Case Study of Etsako West Local Government Area )

Abstract
ABSTRACT This research work is conducted with the aim of finding problems and prospects of revenue generation for effective governance in Local governments. It was observed that the problem confronting revenue generation and as a result the local governments are enormous and these problems have hindered the local government of its citizens. Following the importance and uses of revenue to the local government there is need to increase the sources of revenue available to the local government. This research work intends to create equally new avenues for government revenue in the local government and equally proffer solution to the various problems encountered during revenue collection. The advanced recommendation if followed and implemented by the local government will enhance revenue generation which will lead to the general development of the area.
