Abstract
This study investigates the association between depression, anxiety, stress, and suicidal ideation with sociodemographic characteristics among allied health science students at the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria. Using cross-sectional data from university students and validated psychometric instruments, it identifies significant links between psychological distress and suicidal ideation, moderated by gender, course of study, academic level, and residence. The findings underscore the need for routine mental health screening, targeted interventions, and supportive campus environments to reduce suicide risk and improve student well-being and academic outcomes.
