Effects of Some Learning Disorders on Students'performance in Biology Amongst Senior Secondary Schools in Sokoto State

Abstract
The research is based on assessment of the Effect of Learning Disorder and Students’ Performance Amongst Senior Secondary School, Sokoto, Nigeria. A sample of one hundred (100) students was proportionately selected from all the senior secondary school across the study areas. Three (3) research questions were formulated and analyzed descriptively. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The findings of the research indicated that there are many factors that leads to students’ learning disorder in senior secondary schools, some of which, according to this research work, includes: Genetic factors, prenatal exposure to toxins or infection, environmental factors, impact of neurodevelopmental disorders etc. Also, The consequences of learning disorders in Biology and the mitigating factors of learning disorders in Biology. In view of this, the research recommended the government at all levels (federal, state and local governments), together with private school owners are enjoined to employ competent Biology teachers, who will also be friendly and accommodating to students in the discharge of their duties, Similarly, governments and school owners should also provide conducive environments for teaching and learning of Biology. Enough teaching aids and gadgets needed for the teaching of Biology should also be supplied to the teachers in the schools. Teachers of Biology are encouraged to develop sweet and comprehensive methods of teaching Biology, so as to make the subject and teaching of the subject matter interesting to the students. Parents and teachers alike encourage students to study Biology in tertiary institutions. It is also suggested that parents should monitor their children’s activities as it relates to their performance in Biology both in and out of schools
