Recruitment Process and Productivity of Non Academic Staff in Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti

Abstract
This study was carried out to examine the connectivity between the recruitment process and the productivity of non-academic staff at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. Specifically, the study examined the impact of job advertisements on the productivity of non-academic staff at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti; evaluated the impact of employee referral on the productivity of non academic staff at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti; investigated the impact of employee selection practice on the productivity of non-academic staff at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. In the study recent and relevant studies was reviewed exhaustively and exclusively to achieve the objectives of the study. A descriptive survey design was adopted and the population for this study covered all the 1045 non-academic staff of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti (Office of the Registrar, 2022); out of which 289 were selected using Taro Yamane (1964) model to determine the sample size of the study. Descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages) were used for respondents' background information. Also, mean and standard deviation were used to analyze research objectives while simple linear regression analysis was employed in testing the hypothesis. Through the analysis, it was discovered that job advertisement has a positive and significant effect on the productivity of non-academic staff at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, as indicated by the coefficient value of 0.837 and a p-value of 0.000. Also, it was disclosed that employee referral has a positive and significant effect on productivity of non-academic staff at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. This is indicated by the values of the coefficient and p-value given to be 0.386 and 0.000. Furthermore, employee selection practice has a positive and significant effect on productivity of non-academic staff at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. This is indicated by the values of the coefficient and p-value given to be 0.803 and 0.000. From the analysis result, it was concluded that recruitment process has a statistically significant effect on productivity of non-academic staff of Ekiti State University. Hence, it was recommended that the university should ensure that job advertisements are not only widespread but also clear and compelling, outlining specific job expectations, benefits, and opportunities for growth.
