The Effect of Audit Quality on the Performance of Selected Government Parastatals in Ekiti State

Abstract

ABSTRACT quality on the performance of selected government parastatals in Ekiti State. Three specific objectives, research questions and hypotheses were raised to The primary goal of this research study was to examine the effect of audit give the study a definite direction. The research used the descriptive research design this design seeks to establish factors associated with certain occurrences, outcomes, conditions or types of behaviour. The sample comprised of eighty-six (86) staffs selected from the sample area, the instrument used for the collection of data for the purpose of this study is questionnaire. The instrument has face and content validity. A self-structured and validated questionnaire was used to collect data from respondents. The data collected were analyzed automatically using simple percentage and regression analysis. The study revealed that there is a significant impact of audit quality on the financial performance of government parastatals in Ekiti State. It revealed that there is a significant relationship audit independent and the overall performance of government parastatals in Ekiti State. The study also revealed that there is a significant relationship between audit competence and audit quality of government parastatals in Ekiti State. between
