Abstract
The study investigated the occurrence and abundance of mosquito larvae in Are roads 1 and 2 Iworoko-Ekiti,Ekiti State. The sampling habitat sites include abandoned reservoir, unused tyres, container, stream. The study was carried out between the months of October and December,2024.Mosquito larvae were collected from the breeding sites monthly.Three different species of mosquito larvae were observed, these include Anopheles, Culex and Aedes and the abundance mosquito larvae species showed that Culex had the highest number 505(45.5%) followed by Anopheles 330(29.9%),and Aedes 270(24.4%).A total of 1105 mosquito larvae was collected in the habitat sampled. These include abandoned reservoir 510(46.2%),domestic container 302(27.3%),stream 190(17.2%) and tyres 103(9.3%).Culex was observed to be the most prevalent (46.2%)in Are Roads 1and 2 Iworoko-Ekiti. In conclusion, these findings are useful in providing knowledge on the vector ecology with particular interest on the type of habitats preference, and serve as useful information for control measure
