Abstract
Like other industrial revolution, the fourth industrial revolution requires an entire change like
work, it give rise to the emergence of technologies such as cyber- physical, the internet of things,
cloud computing, additive manufacturing, big data analytics and smart production. The main aim
of industry 4.o technologies is flexibility of operations, end-to-end operational maintenance, and
internet upgrading of production systems intelligently This study identifies industry 4.0
implementation challenges in manufacturing firms using Selected Nigerian Manufacturing
Industries as a case study. This study identifies challenges using Interpretive Structural
Modeling(ISM). Based on Interpretive Structural Modeling outcome, which is used to determine
the hierarchy of the implementation challenges, the absence of skilled workforce (people), open
colaboration, and big data management and security: technology interaction and integration and
insufficient finds emerged as the main industry 4.0 implementation challenges in the study area.
This study therefore, serves as a tool for researchers, industry leaders, stakeholders, and
professionals in manufacturing sectors to increase the awareness of industry 4.o implementation.
