Abstract
This research explores the design and implementation of a next-generation solar-powered automatic scarecrow to address the persistent issue of bird-caused agricultural damage. Traditional scarecrows have become ineffective with birds' rapid conditioning against stationary threats, and new solution methods are needed. The proposed automatic scarecrow integrates cutting-edge technologies like sound sensing, motor-based motion, and real-time image processing to develop a dynamic and adaptive deterrent device. Operating on solar power only, this appliance ensures sustainability and effectiveness in agricultural settings. Large-scale field demonstrations indicate that the scarecrow dramatically reduces crop loss by over 85% compared to conventional techniques. This novel approach not only enhances pest management techniques but also promotes environmentally friendly farming practices, contributing to overall sustainability of agricultural systems.
