Abstract
ABSTRACT This study on written communication and organizational performance in general hospital Ikot Ekpene had the following are some of its objectives; define out if workers in general hospital, Ikot Ekpene are away of written communication. To find out if workers in general hospital, Ikot Ekpene, uses written communications in its day-to-day activities and to find out everything communication creates impact among workers in general hospital, Ikot Ekpene. This study adopted Media Richness and organizational Culture theory. Survey research designed was adopted for the study with questionnaire as the research instrument. They study made use of accidental sample techniques to select 102 samples from the total population of 205. Their findings reveal there is a relationship between effective written communication and staff in general hospital, Ikot Ekpene. The study concluded that written communication at general hospital, Ikot Ekpene has positive impact among staff of the organization and some gaps needs to be addressed through targeted improvement in written communication practices to ensure consistent and effective contributions. The study recommended among others that management of general hospital, Ikot Ekpene should implement training programs to the staff to enhance awareness and effective use of written communication great guidelines and best practices for written communication and support staffs who use it less frequently to ensure consistent engagement.
