Resource Constraints and Creative Problem-Solving in Entrepreneurship: a Study of Sokoto Metropolis

This study investigates the resource constraints faced by entrepreneurs in Sokoto Metropolis and their impact on creative problem-solving and business growth outcomes. The primary objectives are to evaluate the relationship between financial, technological, and human resource constraints and the extent of creative problem-solving among entrepreneurs. Grounded in the Resource-Based View and Innovation Theories, the research employs a quantitative methodology, utilizing structured questionnaires administered to 214 respondents, with data analyzed through descriptive statistics and correlation analyses. Findings reveal significant negative relationships between financial limitations and creative problem-solving, and human resource constraints and business growth, while a strong positive correlation exists between technology availability and the adoption of innovative practices. These insights underline the pressing need for entrepreneurs to access financial resources and technology to enhance their operational capabilities. Based on the findings, recommendations include establishing financial support programs, improving access to technological resources, and investing in human resource development through training and capacity-building initiatives. This study not only contributes to the understanding of entrepreneurial challenges in Sokoto Metropolis but also offers practical solutions to foster an enabling environment for local businesses, promoting innovation and sustainable growth in the region.
