Abstract
The design and development of a dual-purpose drone involving surveillance and delivery to enhance healthcare industry has been executed. Taking into consideration the challenges faced by medical and health industry, this project aims to enhance the delivery of healthcare requirements and prompt and flexible road accident victim assistance. The methodology utilized in this research includes system design calculations (aerodynamics), application of CAD (Fusion 360), sourcing of required materials and components for the drone prototype development; application of manufacturing processes such as riveting, threading, soldering to assemble the purchased components. From the results obtained, a multi-purpose drone with maximum payload of 0.955kg which can cover a distance of 1.5km, and a maximum speed of 60km/hr was achieved. The successful implementation of this system has the potential to revolutionize healthcare accessibility in remote areas by reducing geographical barriers to essential medical resources, enhancing safety and efficiency in medical supply delivery and expediting emergency response times for road accidents. By addressing these challenges, drone technology has the potential to transform healthcare delivery, particularly in undeserved areas, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes for all.
