The Determinants of Female Labour Force Participation in Nigeria

Abstract
This study examines the determinants of female labour force participation in Nigeria. The objective of this study is to examine the determinants of female labour force participation and to examine the relationships between the identified determinants on female labour force participation. The study adopted expo-facto using multiple regression analysis with the help of SPSS package. The study identified that education, age, household size, family income and marital status are the determinants of female labour force participation in Nigeria and they also have a significant effect on female labour force participation in Nigeria. The study recommends therefore that the government should improve its involvement and programs in the determinants of female labour force participation.
