Abstract
This project focuses on the design of an efficient sewage collection system for Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI). The primary objective is to develop a sustainable and cost-effective solution for managing wastewater and sewage generated within the university campus. Given the growing student population and expanding facilities, an effective sewage management system is essential to prevent environmental pollution and maintain public health standards. The design process involves site surveys, hydraulic calculations, and the selection of appropriate materials and technologies that meet local regulatory standards. Key considerations include the terrain, soil conditions, sewage flow rate, and future campus expansion plans. The project also explores the integration of modern treatment facilities to minimize the environmental impact. The final system design ensures durability, ease of maintenance, and scalability to accommodate AE-FUNAI’s growth, providing a sustainable infrastructure for the university’s long-term development.
