Effects of Casimiora Edulis Extract on the Lipid Profile of Streptozotocin (stz) Induced Diabetes in Albino Rats

Abstract
ABSTRACT Diabetic patients are often present with characteristic plasma lipid and lipoprotein abnormalities, including, TC, TG and HDL levels. This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of the extract of Casimiora Edulis on the lipid profile of streptozotocininduced diabetic albino rats. The fresh Casimiora Edulis leaves were collected, rinsed in clean water, then left to air dry at room temperature. Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (1mg/kg body weight) to the rats. They were allowed for 72 hrs. for development of diabetes.
