Effect of Inventory Management on Financial Performance of Listed Manufacturing Companies in Nigeria

Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examined the effect of inventory management on the performance of listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria. Correlation research design was adopted in this research. Secondary data was extracted from annual report and accounts of the listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria for the period of five years (2018 to 2022) The data were analyzed using multiple regression analyses. The result showed that inventory conversion period has an insignificant positive relationsiup with return on assets. Also, inventory conversion period shows an insignificant positive relationship with return on equity, while inventory conversion period shows a significant negative relationship with firm growth of listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria Therefore, the study recommends that the management of listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria should efficiently manage their inventory through mmamizing storage and other associated cost related to holding excess inventory. Thus leads to cost savings and improves the performance of the companies.
