An Evaluation of Compensation Management and Organisational Performance a Study of Access Bank Plc

Abstract
ABSTRACT The study was an evaluation of compensation management and organisational performance. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of compensation management on the performance of Access Bank plc. The study adopted survey research design. In order to conduct the survey, questionnaire was adopted as the research instrument for primary data collection. A sample size of Sixty (60) respondents who were selected from the population of the study through purposive sampling technique participated in the study. Secondary sources of data such as textbooks and journal were reviewed for various items on compensation management and organizational performance to enrich the literature. The suggested hypotheses were tested with Chi square statistical tool. The findings indicated that there is a significant relationship between compensation management and the performance of Access Bank Plc.. It was concluded that if employees' perceive that they will be adequately compensated they will work harder to achieve the objectives of the organisation. It was therefore recommended that salary should not be the only aspect of compensation, other benefits such as vacation, sick leave and etc. should be part of the employees' compensation package in Access Bank Plc.
