Abstract
ABSTRACT This project presents the design and construction of an automated PV cleaning and charging infrastructure for solar powered electric vehicle. The efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) panels used in solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging stations is often reduced due to dust accumulation, leading to lower energy output. This project focuses on designing and implementing an automated PV cleaning and charging system to maintain optimal energy generation with minimal manual intervention. The system integrates a motorized cleaning mechanism, controlled by an Arduino-based microcontroller, which activates cleaning cycles based on sensor data. A Battery Management System (BMS) ensures efficient energy storage and distribution, while a boost converter stabilizes power supply for effective EV charging. Performance tests showed that the automated cleaning system improved energy conversion efficiency, reducing maintenance costs and enhancing sustainability. The developed system provides a cost-effective, reliable, and scalable solution for renewable energy-based EV infrastructure, promoting cleaner transportation and sustainable energy utilization.
