Abstract
This project focuses on building an easy-to-use online attendance system that uses barcodes to record students’ presence in class. Traditional methods like paper sign-ins are slow, prone to errors, and can be faked. To solve these issues, this system allows administrators to create sessions and generate barcodes, which students can scan using their mobile devices or a scanner. The data is saved instantly and securely in a database, making it easier to track and manage attendance. The system was developed using modern tools such as Node.js, Express.js, SQLite, Bootstrap, and QuaggaJS for barcode scanning. It improves accuracy, reduces workload for teachers, and provides real-time attendance records that can be accessed online. Although the system is effective, it currently depends on barcode scanning and internet access. Future upgrades could include features like face recognition or QR code encryption to make it even more secure and reliable.
