Abstract
Optimal control and Linear Programming Problem (LPP) techniques are essential tools for improving decision-making in resource allocation and logistics. This study applies the Simplex Method to model the optimal scheduling of petroleum product distribution in Nigeria, using a comparative analysis of the years 2022 and 2025. A cost-minimization linear programming model is developed to address supplydemand imbalances and transportation inefficiencies. The results highlight the impact of policy changes, infrastructure improvements, and economic conditions on distribution performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of LPP in optimizing operations within Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
