The Influence of Home Economics Education on Marital Satisfaction and Stability Among Young Couples in University of Ilorin

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examined the influence of Home Economics education on marital satisfaction and stability among young couples at the University of Ilorin. The main objectives were to assess couples' knowledge of Home Economics, determine its impact on marital satisfaction and stability, identify key components enhancing marriage, and evaluate its roles in conflict resolution and financial management. Seven research questions and six hypotheses were raised and tested at a 0.05 level of significance. A survey design was adopted with a sample size of 200 participants selected using a multi-stage sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS (version 21.0). The findings revealed that 86.5% of respondents had advanced knowledge of Home Economics.
