Abstract
ABSTRACT This research explored the effectiveness of communication between managers and staff at Unity Bank Plc., Gwagwalada, FCT-Abuja. The study employed a purposive descriptive survey research design, targeting a population of 98 managerial employees at the Gwagwalada branch. Data collection involved close-ended questionnaires, combining primary data with secondary sources, such as online journals, textbooks, and publications. Out of the 98 distributed questionnaires, 94 were valid and used in the analysis. Data were examined using simple percentage methods and Multiple Regression analysis to assess relationships and test the study’s variables. Hypothesis testing revealed that effective communication significantly influences employee loyalty, while average communication has little effect; however, high-quality communication positively impacts productivity. The study concluded that effective communication between Unity Bank’s managers and staff is crucial. It recommends that Unity Bank’s management work to minimize communication barriers and adopt a transparent, democratic communication approach to enhance employee commitment.
