Abstract
ABSTRACT The Kanawa village, located in Bauchi State. northeastern Nigeria, falls within the NigerianBasement Complex, which is part of the Pan-African mobile belt. The geology of the region ischaracterized by a mix of metamorphic and igneous rocks, including schists.gneisses. and granites.all of which have been affected by multiple tectonic events. Mapping of the Kanawa village aroundBauchi reveals that the region's rock formations were subjected to intense deformation.metamorphism, and magmatism. typical of the Pan-African orogeny, which occurred around600MA. The area features complex structural patterns including folds. faults, and shear zones.which are reflective of its tectonic history. Granite intrusions in the area. primarily of Pan-Africanage. are widespread and show evidence of contact metamorphism with the surrounding schistoseand gneissic units. These granites have economic importance as thes ae associated nithmineralization.particularis To goid and other metailic minerals,. wpich hate beersmall scale in parts of the region. It also has implications for regional tectonics and mineralexploration. making the Kanawavillage area an important site for both academic research andresource development.
