Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project examines the performance analysis of adding hydroxyl gas (HHO) to a conventional spark ignition engine, evaluating its impact on fuel consumption, power output, and efficiency. Given the environmental concerns and inefficiencies associated with conventional fuels, this study explores HHO gas as a supplementary fuel to potentially improve combustion efficiency while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
The primary objectives include analyzing the impact of HHO gas on fuel consumption, power output, and overall efficiency. Through controlled experimentation, HHO gas was introduced into the engine’s intake in calculated amounts, and performance indicators were measured under various engine loads. Fuel consumption was recorded for different test conditions, comparing fuel-only operation to HHO-supplemented operation. Additionally, the effect of NaOH concentration on HHO production efficiency was examined to optimize gas output while maintaining stable battery performance.
Findings suggest that HHO supplementation contributes to fuel savings, with a measurable reduction in fuel consumption compared to the baseline gasoline operation. Additionally, the use of HHO gas resulted in notable reductions in emissions, supporting its potential for cleaner combustion in spark ignition engines. However, it was observed that the generator's runtime is dependent on both the supplied voltage and HHO gas availability.
This study contributes to the understanding of HHO gas as a combustion enhancer, highlighting its viability in improving fuel efficiency and sustainability in small engines.
