The study sought to ascertain the employee relations strategies of the management, investigate the communication channels used by the management used to promote employee relations, to ascertain the levels of Afe Babalola University employees’ satisfactions with the leadership communication strategies of management of the institutions and to ascertain the level of employee participation in decision-making process in the institution. The theories adapted were social exchange theory and human relations theory. A mixed method of research involving both quantitative and qualitative, use of interviews was adopted. Percentages, the four-point Likert scale and content analysis of interview were used in the data analysis. The findings of the research showed that the employee relations strategies employed by the management were effective and enhanced a positive working environment for employees and most of the communication channels were effective except for the use of the notice boards effectively for communication and regular and meaningful departmental meetings. It further showed that the management pay salaries on time to the staff members as well as providing them with good accommodation within the school premises and ensuring electricity supply is made available for them 24hours and employee participation in decision-making processes was found to be relatively too low. The study concluded that the employee relations practices of ABUAD was found to be fairly adequate. However, the management needs to dwell more on blending direct and representative participation in decision-making and improve on staff welfare and career support to engender greater level of job satisfaction.
