Effect of Knowledge Management on Organisational Competitiveness: a Study of Wema Bank Plc, Ado- Ekiti Branch

ABSTRACT
The study focused on the effect of knowledge management on organizational competitiveness
in Wema Bank Plc, Ado-Ekiti. The research also explored the concepts of knowledge
management, dimensions and knowledge sharing and organization performance in
competitive environment. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. This method
provided descriptions of the variables in order to answer the research questions in the study.
The study used random sampling method of data collection since it is an unbiased sampling
method of grouping heterogeneous populations into homogenous subsets then making a
selection within the individual subset to ensure adequate representativeness. Data obtained
from the administered questionnaires were analysed using chi-square method. Descriptive
methods of analysis were also used to analyse data using percentage, tables, frequencies.
Findings from the research showed significant effect of knowledge acquisition on
organizational competitiveness in Wema Bank Plc, Ado-Ekiti. There is also significant effect
of knowledge sharing on organizational competitiveness in Wema Bank Plc, Ado-Ekiti and
there is significant effect of knowledge storage and application on organizational
competitiveness in Wema Bank Plc, Ado-Ekiti. The study therefore concluded that for
organizations to be productive there is need to improve level of knowledge sharing, storing,
application and creation.
