Abstract
The proposed Orthopedic Hospital in Zaria aims to provide specialized musculoskeletal healthcare services, addressing the increasing cases of bone fractures, arthritis, spinal disorders, and sports injuries in the region. The project focuses on designing a modern, patient-centered healthcare facility with state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical, and rehabilitation units to enhance orthopedic treatment outcomes.
This study explores the architectural considerations, clinical functions, surgical procedures, rehabilitation services, and research potential of the hospital. The facility will feature advanced diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT scan, X-ray), modular operating rooms, physiotherapy units, prosthetics workshops, and telemedicine services to improve accessibility and efficiency. Sustainable hospital design principles, such as energy-efficient systems, infection control measures, and smart healthcare technologies, will be incorporated to enhance operational efficiency.
The establishment of this hospital is critical for improving healthcare access in Zaria, reducing patient referrals to distant cities, and promoting medical research and professional training in orthopedic care. This project will not only benefit the local population but also serve as a regional center of excellence for orthopedic treatment, education, and innovation.
