Proposed Skilled Nursing Facility

ABSTRACT
This project undertakes the design of a Nursing Home Facility that prioritizes resident-centered care, comfort, and well-being. The design aims to create a supportive environment that promotes physical, social interaction and emotional health and also a sense of community. The nursing home design incorporates evidence based principles and guidelines including those related to universal design, accessibility, and sustainability.
The design proposal includes a comprehensive analysis of the site, climate, and context as well as a thorough review of relevant literature review and design guidelines. The design includes private and communal spaces, optimized natural light and ventilation, and accessible and navigable circulation paths.
