This study was undertaken to examine audience perception of social media influence in creating awareness on domestic violence in Edo State In order to achieve this aim, relevant literature were reviewed as the social responsibility theory was employed as theoretical framework. Four research questions were formulated to find out audience perception of social media influence in creating awareness on domestic violence in Edo State, survey methodology was the research design employed, while the instrument of data collection was the questionnaire that was administered to the respondents. The Taro Yamani sampling procedure was employed to get a representative sample for the study, while simple percentages and statistical tables were used to analyze data. However, it was discovered that social media have been employed in creating awareness on domestic violence to a great extent. The study however recommends inter alia that bloggers and social media users should make sure that they effectively employ their various social network sites with posting issues that bothers on domestic violence, and users and bloggers should endeavour to be objective and truthful in posting issues geared towards curbing the menace.
