Abstract
Abstract
The project “Design and Construction of a Location Detector Using GPS/GSM Module” focuses on developing a device capable of identifying and transmitting the real-time geographical location of an object or person. The system combines the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technologies to provide an accurate and efficient means of location tracking. The GPS module is responsible for obtaining the precise coordinates (latitude and longitude) from satellites, while the GSM module transmits this information via Short Message Service (SMS) to a registered mobile number. A microcontroller acts as the central processing unit, coordinating the data exchange between both modules. The design is powered by a regulated DC supply and features an interface that ensures stability and reliability in data communication. This project finds practical application in vehicle tracking, child and elderly monitoring, asset management, and security systems. The system’s efficiency, portability, and cost-effectiveness make it a valuable tool for real-time location monitoring in both personal and industrial applications.
