Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study examined the effect of recruitment and selection process on Instituitonal Stability in Ekiti State University. The aim of the study was to examine effect of physical examination, employees’ interview and employees’ referral on institutional stability in Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised staffs in Ekiti State University. The sample size was 348. Primary data used for this study were gathered through the administration of well structured questionnaire. Data gathered were analyzed using regression model. The co-efficient of physical examination constructs are given as are medical test (0.127), performance test (-0.521), ability test (-0.091) and knowledge test (0.475) respectively, this physical examination has significant effect on institutional stability. Furthermore, the co-efficient of employees’ interview construct are given as are performance based (0.137) and situational interview (0.430) respectively, this study shows that employees’ interview has significant effect on institutional stability and finally, the co-efficient of employee referral constructs are given as Personal interaction (0.300), Direct mailing (0.309) and recommendation (0.028) respectively, this shows that the employee referral positively affects institutional stability. Thus, the study concluded that recruitment and selection process affects institutional stability of Ekiti State University.
