Abstract
The research study examines the roles of technology on modern day investigations in Ekiti State. The main objective of the study is to find out Assess how technology has improved the efficiency and accuracy of forensic investigations in Ado Ekiti and Analyze the challenges and limitations that technology introduces to modern-day investigations in Ado Ekiti. The researcher adopt a survey design for the study. The population of the study will typically consist of law enforcement officers, investigators, forensic experts, and other relevant personnel within The Nigeria Police Force in Ado Ekiti. This would include all the departments in The Nigeria Police Force that are influenced by technological advancements. The researcher will use a simple random sampling technique while selecting the target respondents. This technique will be applied to all the respondents of the study to purposely select those with the required information. This technique will be used because it ensures that only those with the relevant information are selected. The instrument used for the study is the questionnaire. Findings of the study revealed The roles of technology on modern-day investigations in Ekiti State has been profound, significantly enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement agencies. The integration of digital tools such as forensic analysis software, mobile data terminals, and surveillance systems has transformed traditional investigative methods. These advancements facilitate real-time data collection and analysis, enabling investigators to solve cases more swiftly and accurately. The study concluded that The roles of technology on modern-day investigations in Ekiti State is profound and multifaceted, transforming traditional methodologies into more efficient and effective practices. The integration of digital tools such as data analytics, surveillance systems, and forensic technologies has significantly enhanced the capabilities of law enforcement agencies. These advancements facilitate quicker data retrieval and analysis, allowing investigators to connect disparate pieces of information that may have previously gone unnoticed. The study therefore recommends among others Develop comprehensive training programs for law enforcement personnel in Ado Ekiti that focus on the effective use of advanced forensic technologies. This should include hands-on workshops and continuous education to keep investigators updated on the latest technological advancements and methodologies. And Create standardized protocols that outline the ethical use of technology in forensic investigations. These guidelines should address privacy concerns, data handling, and the implications of using artificial intelligence and other advanced tools to ensure that investigations remain fair and just.
