Employee Engagement and Organizational Performance in Access Bank Plc Umuahia, Abia State

The study evaluates the effects of employee engagement and organizational performance in Access Bank Plc Umuahia, Abia State. The specific objectives of the study were to: ascertain the relationship between leadership and productivity in Access Bank Plc Umuahia, Abia State; ascertain the impact of communication on productivity in Access Bank Plc Umuahia, Abia State; and to assess the long-term impact of comprehensive career development on productivity in Access Bank Plc Umuahia, Abia State. The study adopted a survey research approach. The population of the study consists of employees in five (5) different branches of Access Bank in Umuahia, Abia State. Primary and secondary data were used. Stated objectives were analysed using descriptive statistics; correlation analysis was used to test the hypotheses. Major findings revealed that: leadership style has positive effects on the productivity of Access Bank Plc Umuahia. Clarity of communication has positive effects on the productivity of Access Bank Plc Umuahia and career development of Access Bank Plc Umuahia have positive impacts on their productivity. The study concluded that employee engagement has a significant and positive effect on productivity in all the Access Bank branches in Umuahia within the periods covered by the study. The study recommended that Access Bank Plc managers and supervisors should enhance communication and feedback mechanisms, invest in professional development and leadership training.
