Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendations are given: Mass media should regularly sensitise the public on the dangers of indiscriminate waste disposals and the need for proper managing of wastes. This will help in building positive attitudes towards waste management and go a long way in ensuring a safer environment to everyone; that Sensitisation on environmental health and waste management can no longer be left in the hands of radio stations alone. Government, individuals and other stakeholders must fully get involved by undertaking the sponsorship of radio and television programmes that will help inculcate best environmental health practices and positive attitude towards waste management, and that radio stations should not only involve professionals in the presentation of environmental and waste management programmes, but must also allot more airtime to such programmes, these will help mitigate the impediments to effective sensitisation on waste management through the radio.
