Abstract
Blood donation is a vital component of healthcare systems, essential for surgeries, treatments, and emergency care. Despite its importance, traditional blood donation processes often face challenges such as logistical inefficiencies, lack of awareness, and communication barriers between donors and recipients. This study proposes the development of a mobile application designed to address these challenges by streamlining the process of blood donation and recipient matching. The proposed application leverages mobile technology to provide real-time donor-recipient matching, geolocation services, and secure communication channels. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review, user surveys, and interviews to understand the needs and preferences of potential users. Following these insights, a prototype application is designed and developed, incorporating user-friendly interfaces and advanced functionalities. The prototype is then subjected to rigorous testing to evaluate its usability, functionality, and user satisfaction. Java which is an object oriented programming language is Selected as the programming language for the development while Google firebase database is used For the backend and user data storage.
