Abstract
The incorporation of shredded plastic, specifically from water bottles, into concrete production
has gained interest as a sustainable approach to reducing plastic waste and enhancing certain
properties of concrete. This present study aimed at concrete mix by granules ( 0%, 5%, 10% and
15% ) in concrete mixtures. The results demonstrate that the addition of shredded plastic
improves the tensile strength and durability of the concrete, while marginally reducing
compressive strength. The research highlights the potential for plastic waste to be repurposed in
the construction industry, offering environmental and economic benefits. However, further
studies are needed to optimize the proportions of plastic additives to balance strength and
sustainability. The Use of Shredded plastic in Concrete Production investigates the feasibility of
incorporating plastic waste from water bottles into concrete mixtures. The study explores the
potential of using Shredded Plastic as an additive to enhance concrete’s strength and reduce
environmental waste. Through laboratory tests, various concrete mixtures with different
concentrations of shredded plastic were prepared and analyzed for compressive strength and
durability
