Abstract

This research examines the methods of requestive construction in Al-Shama’il al-Muhammadiyya by Imam al-Tirmidhi, with particular focus on linguistic, syntactic, and pragmatic aspects. The study aims to identify and analyze different forms of requestive expressions—such as commands, prohibitions, supplications, and interrogatives—used within the text to convey politeness, respect, and reverence toward the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, drawing examples directly from the text to illustrate how linguistic structures serve communicative functions in various contexts. Findings reveal that Imam al-Tirmidhi employed diverse requestive patterns that reflect both grammatical accuracy and deep spiritual meaning. The study concludes that these constructions not only enhance the beauty of Arabic expression but also serve as a means of moral and religious instruction for readers.
