Abstract
The increasing need for a secure, transparent, and efficient voting process in university elections
has led to the development of various online voting systems. This project focuses on designing
and implementing a university-based online voting system to enhance accessibility, eliminate
manual vote counting errors, and ensure election integrity.
The system is designed as a web-based application with secure authentication mechanisms to
prevent multiple voting and unauthorized access. It integrates database encryption, real-time vote
tallying, and a user-friendly interface to streamline the voting process. The study reviews existing
voting systems, identifying their strengths and limitations, and proposes an improved solution that
enhances security, usability, and accuracy.
The implementation involves frontend and backend development using web technologies like
html, css, and python programming language with a database system ensuring secure storage and
retrieval of votes. The project also evaluates the system’s performance, security features, and user
acceptance through testing and simulations.
Results show that the system significantly reduces election processing time, enhances voter
participation, and minimizes electoral fraud. The proposed system provides a reliable digital
election framework for universities, paving the way for further advancements in electronic voting
technologies.
