Abstract
The increasing demand for sustainable agricultural practices has led to the exploration of innovative solutions to reduce energy consumption while improving productivity. This project investigates the application of photovoltaic cells as a power supply for smart greenhouse systems. The primary objective is to design and implement an energy-efficient system that integrates solar energy to power essential greenhouse operations, including automatic watering, canopy adjustment, temperature regulation, and humidity control. The methodology involves designing a solar-powered energy system comprising photovoltaic panels, a charge controller, a battery storage unit, and an inverter. The smart greenhouse setup includes sensors and automated systems for real- time environmental monitoring and control. Testing procedures were conducted to evaluate the efficiency and reliability of the solar power system under varying weather conditions. Key findings indicate that the system can effectively sustain greenhouse operations, reducing dependency on conventional energy sources while ensuring optimal conditions for plant growth. The integration of solar energy into greenhouse farming promotes environmental sustainability, reduces operational costs, and supports the global transition towards renewable energy solutions. This project demonstrates the viability of combining photovoltaic technology with agricultural innovations, offering a scalable model for smart farming in regions with abundant solar resources.
