Abstract
This project examines the impact of government expenditure on the Nigerian economy. The data
collected is secondary and was obtained from the statistical records of the World Bank
Statistical Bulletin from 1981 to 2022. The study employed statistical methods such as regression
and correlation analysis, normality tests, multicollinearity, and autocorrelation. Recurrent
expenditure showed a strong positive correlation with GDP,
