Utilization of Artificial Intelligence Tools for News Processing Production and Dissemination in Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (osbc)

This project dwells on the Utilization of Artificial intelligence tools for news processing production and dissemination in Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC). The study examined utilization of Artificial Intelligence tools for news processing production and dissemination in Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC). This study adopted survey method using questionnaire as data collection instrument from the population who are staff nembers of OSBC Osogbo, Osun State while one hundred and four respondents were sample among staff members of OSBC Osogbo, census Sampling Technique were used to sample the respodents, this research employs Diffusion innovative theory it explains how new technological innovation is introduced, they will move across series of stages before they are generally adopted and Mediamorphosis Theory which explains that new media only evolved to update and upgrade old media. In this way, we may say that Al or software journalism is primarily intended to improve upon the traditional labour of news sourcing that requires movement to various locations to source news, conduct interviews and return to writing, editing footages (TV broadcast) and publishing or broadcasting eventually. It was however discovered during the research that Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) is in the process of integrating Al tools into its news operations, with partial implementation currently evident.
Al-driven fact-checking tools are especially effective, contributing to moderate improvements in news quality and accuracy. The study hereby recommends that there should be implementation of regular training and workshops to equip staff with the necessary skills to effectively use Al tools.
